The Cross-Chain Roundup #4
Week Roundup ( 12-18 December 2022 )
Welcome to the latest edition of the Swing newsletter, a weekly digest of everything that’s happening in the rapidly evolving world of cross-chain. New interoperability breakthroughs; integrations; innovative tech and much more.
It’s all here, broken down into bite-size chunks for you to digest at your leisure. This week there’s a lot to cover.
📰Cross-Chain Updates
1. MetaMask Integrates Connext to Its Bridge Aggregator
MetaMask has been gradually expanding the number of bridges its aggregator serves. The addition of Connext further expands that capability. MetaMask already served requests across Hop, Celer cBridge, and Polygon Bridge, enabling users to port funds to and from Ethereum, Avalanche, Binance Smart Chain, and Polygon in the most cost-efficient manner. The bridge is still in beta so there’s a $10K cap on transactions for now.
2. EYWA Debuts on Aurora to Enhance Cross-Chain Communication
EYWA is a cross-chain data and liquidity protocol. Its arrival on Aurora will allow different blockchain ecosystems to interact with one another seamlessly. EYWA is designed to unify the world of DeFi by making it easier for projects to go cross-chain. It includes a token bridge, liquidity aggregator, and cross-chain data protocol.
3. Multichain Launches New Cross-Chain Explorer
Bridging protocol Multichain has just launched a new and improved version of its cross-chain explorer. It includes a dashboard for viewing assets including NFTs and for tracking requests made using the #anyCall messaging transfer service. The release also includes an upgraded API, making it easier for developers to build upon Multichain’s cross-chain protocol.
4. Symbiosis Launches v2 of Its Cross-Chain Engine
Symbiosis has launched v2 of its protocol on the Boba BNB L2 chain. Users only need to pay gas fees on the source chain and not on the destination chain because the protocol covers gas costs on the destination chain. The v2 release also promises better pricing for certain swaps and makes it easier for users to add additional destination chains.
5. Allbridge Prepares to Integrate With Polygon
Allbridge Core is bringing its solution for cross-chain stablecoin swaps to the Polygon ecosystem. It will provide a liquidity rebalancing feature, one-click swaps, and the addition of a privacy layer in the future, which will support Polygon’s plans to develop a zkEVM chain. The addition of Polygon support will also create opportunities for cross-chain interoperability via native integration with Tron and Solana which Allbridge already supports.
6. Wormhole Goes Live on Injective Bringing L1 Assets to Cosmos
Injective’s integration with Wormhole has now been completed, making assets such as Solana, Klaytn, Algorand, and Aptos accessible within the Cosmos IBC ecosystem for the first time. Wormhole already supports Solana, Aptos, Avalanche, Algorand, BNB Chain, Fantom, Oasis, Polygon, and Arbitrum. Complex cross-chain transfers can now be accomplished on Injective via a simple click.
7. Rubic Partners with OpenOcean to Expand Cross-Chain Swap Capability
OpenOcean has been integrated into Rubic’s growing cross-chain ecosystem, bringing the ability to swap tokens across 200 DEXs on 18 blockchains. OpenOcean’s DEX aggregator sources deep liquidity from DeFi markets and enables cross-chain swaps. It supports Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, Fantom, Aurora, Gnosis, Cronos, Moonriver, Harmony, Heco, OKC, and a host of L2s.
8. Seedify Brings Cross-Chain Gaming Closer to Reality with Axelar Integration
Web3 gaming and metaverse incubator Seedify has partnered with Axelar Network. The agreement will improve gaming experiences by delivering secure interoperability infrastructure. This will help web3 games developers release products that better realize the full potential of onchain gaming.
9. DaoStarter Partners with Celer Network to Enhance Cross-Chain Token Bridging
Web3 incubator DaoStarter has inked an agreement with Celer Network that will see a cBridge entry integrated into the former’s website. This will support best-in-class cross-chain token bridging with deeper liquidity for users. DaoStarter has a growing presence across the Ethereum, BSC, and Aptos networks.
